The Lineage Supplication for the Medicine Buddha Ritual “Excellent Vase of Benefit and Bliss”

ན་མོ་གུ་རུ་མ་ཧཱ་ནི་དྷི་བྷཻཥཛྱཻ་ཡ།

Namo guru mahānidhi bhaiṣajyāya!

མཉམ་མེད་ཤཱཀྱའི་རྒྱལ་པོ་ཟས་གཙང་སྲས། །

nyamé shakyé gyelpo zetsang sé

Matchless king of Śakyas, son of Zetsang;

རྒྱལ་ཀུན་གསུང་གི་དབང་ཕྱུག་འཇམ་པའི་དབྱངས། །

gyelkün sung gi wangchuk jampeyang

Mañjuśrī, sovereign of all victors’ awakened speech;

དེ་སྲས་གངས་ཅན་དཔལ་མགོན་ཞི་བ་མཚོ། །

dé sé gangchen pelgön zhiwatso

and your son Śāntarakṣita, the snowy land’s glorious guardian—

བཀའ་དྲིན་མཚུངས་མེད་གསུམ་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

kadrin tsungmé sum la sölwa dep

trio of unmatched kindness, I supplicate you.

བོད་འབངས་ཐུགས་རྗེས་རྗེས་བཟུང་ཁྲི་སྲོང་རྗེ། །

bö bang tukjé jé zung trisong jé

King Trisong who cared for the Tibetan people with compassion;

དེ་སྲས་མུ་ནེ་མུ་རུབ་མུ་ཁྲི་བཙན། །

dé sé muné murup mutri tsen

your sons, Muné, Murup, and Mutri Tsenpo;

ཆོས་སེམས་གཙང་མའི་ཞབས་དང་འོད་ཀྱི་སྲུང༌། །

chö sem tsangmé zhap dang ö kyi sung

you of pure Dharmic intentions; and Kāśyapa—

སྔ་དར་ཆོས་རྒྱལ་རྣམས་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

ngadar chögyel nam la sölwa dep

Dharma kings of the early propagation, I supplicate you.

མངའ་བདག་དཔལ་འཁོར་བཙན་དང་ཉི་མ་མགོན། །

ngadak pel khor tsen dang nyima gön

Monarch Pelkhor Tsen; Nyima Gön;

བཀྲ་ཤིས་སྡེ་དང་ལྷ་བཙུན་ཁུ་དབོན་གཉིས། །

trashi dé dang lhatsün khuwön nyi

Tashi Dé; Lhatsün uncle and nephew;

ཞི་བ་འོད་དང་འོད་སྡེ་རྩེ་སྡེའི་ཞབས། །

zhiwa ö dang ödé tsé dé zhap

Zhiwa Ö; venerable Ödé and Tsedé—

ཕྱི་དར་ཆོས་རྒྱལ་རྣམས་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

chi dar chögyel nam la sölwa dep

Dharma kings of the later propagation, I supplicate you.

གཞན་ཡང་བཀའ་གཏེར་ཟབ་མོ་དག་སྣང་སོགས། །

zhen yang kater zapmo dak nang sok

All lineage gurus who uphold, maintain, and propagate

ཆོས་རྒྱལ་ཐུགས་དམ་མདོ་སྡེའི་ཆོ་ག་ཉིད། །

chögyel tukdam dodé choka nyi

the oral, treasure, profound pure vision and other transmissions,

གངས་ཅན་ལྗོངས་འདིར་འཛིན་སྐྱོང་སྤེལ་མཛད་པའི། །

gangchen jong dir dzin kyong pel dzepé

and the sutra rituals that were the Dharma King’s heart practice¹

བརྒྱུད་པའི་བླ་མ་རྣམས་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

gyüpé lama nam la sölwa dep

here in the snowy land—I supplicate you!

ཁྱད་པར་བཀའ་དྲིན་སུམ་ལྡན་དྲིན་ཆེན་རྗེ། །

khyepar kadrin sumden drinchen jé

In particular, gracious lord who shows the threefold kindness,

དུག་གསུམ་ནད་སེལ་སྨན་པའི་རྒྱལ་པོ་དངོས། །

duk sum né sel menpé gyelpo ngö

true King of Healers who dispels sickness and the three poisons,

འབྲེལ་ཚད་དོན་ལྡན་གངས་ཅན་བསྟན་འགྲོའི་མགོན། །

drel tsé dönden gangchen ten drö gön

you, so meaningful to encounter, guardian of the doctrine and of beings in the snowy land—

མཆོག་གྱུར་གླིང་པའི་ཞབས་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

chokgyur lingpé zhap la sölwa dep

venerable Chokgyur Lingpa, I supplicate you!

དེ་ལྟར་གསོལ་བ་བཏབ་པའི་བྱིན་རླབས་ཀྱིས། །

detar sölwa tapé jinlap kyi

Through the blessings of this supplication,

བདག་སོགས་འགྲོ་ཀུན་ནད་ཀྱི་གདུང་བ་ཞི། །

dak sok dro kün né kyi dungwa zhi

may the torment of sickness be extinguished in myself and all beings;

སྨན་པའི་རྒྱལ་པོའི་གོ་འཕང་མྱུར་ཐོབ་ནས། །

menpé gyelpö gopang nyur top né

and, by swiftly attaining the state of King of Healers,

མཐའ་ཡས་སེམས་ཅན་མ་ལུས་སྒྲོལ་བར་ཤོག །

tayé semchen malü drölwar shok

may beings in their infinity be liberated!

མདོར་ན་བདེ་གཤེགས་སྲས་བཅས་སྨོན་ལམ་སྟོབས། །

dorna deshek seché mönlam top

In short, through the power of the sugatas’ aspirations and

ནམ་ཡང་བསླུ་བ་མེད་པའི་བདེན་པ་དང༌། །

nam yang luwa mepé denpa dang

those of their heirs, and through the power of unfailing truth and

ཆོས་དབྱིངས་འགྱུར་མེད་ཡོངས་སུ་གྲུབ་པའི་མཐུས། །

chöying gyurmé yong su drupé tü

of the absolute, unchanging dharmadhātu,

བཟང་པོ་སྤྱོད་པའི་སྨོན་ལམ་མཐར་ཕྱིན་ཤོག །

zangpo chöpé mönlam tarchin shok

may the Aspiration to Good Actions come to fruition!

ཅེས་པ་འདི་ཡང་མཁན་པོ་ཀརྨ་རཏྣས་འོག་མིན་ཀརྨ་ཡང་དབེན་ནས་སྤེལ་བ་སརྦ་ག་ཏ་ཧི་ཏ་མ་ཧཱ་སུ་ཁ་ཝརྡྷནྟུ།། །།
