The Vajra Sitar of Immortality
A Prayer for the Long Life of the Fourth Incarnation of Terchen Chokgyur Lingpa
ཨོཾ་སྭསྟི། རི༵ག་འཛི༵ན་གྲུབ་བརྒྱའི་སྤྱི་མེས་པདྨ་འབྱུང་། །
om svasti, rikzin drub gyé chimé pema jung
Padmasambhava—forefather of hundreds of accomplished vidyādharas—
བདེ་ཆེན་འགྱུ༵ར་མེ༵ད་སྒྱུ་འཕྲུལ་ཡི་དམ་ལྷ། །
dechen gyurmé gyütrul yidam lha
yidam deities—magical manifestations of unchanging great bliss—
རྡོ༵་རྗེ༵འི་ཆོས་སྲུང་མཁའ་འགྲོའི་ཚོགས་བཅས་ཀྱི། །
dorjé chösung khandrö tsok ché kyi
and the assembly of vajra dharma protectors and ḍākinīs,
བདེན་བྱིན་རྨད་བྱུང་ནུས་མཐུའི་ཤིས་པ་སྩོལ། །
den jin mejung nütü shipa tsol
through your wondrous truth, may all be powerfully auspicious!
སྔ་འགྱུར་བཀའ་གཏེར་ཐེག་མཆོག་སྨིན་གྲོལ་གྱི། །
ngagyur kater tek chok mindrol gyi
Custodian of the liberating instructions and ripening empowerments
བསྟན་འཛིན་མཁས་གྲུབ་དབང་པོའི་སྐུ་ཚེ་དང་། །
tenzin khedrup wangpö kutsé dang
of the Supreme Vehicle, the Kama and Terma of the Ancient Translations,
ཐུགས་བསྐྱེད་ཕྲིན་ལས་དཀར་པོའི་ཟླ་གཞོན་བཞིན། །
tukyé trinlé karpö da zhön zhin
Lord of scholars and sages—like the full moon rising bright above,
འཆར་བས་ཕྱོགས་ལས་རྣམ་པར་རྒྱལ་གྱུར་ཅིག །
charwé chok lé nampar gyal gyur chik
may your life, awakened vision and activity reign victorious over all!
བཀའ་བབས་བདུན་ལྡན་གཏེར་ཆེན་ཆོས་ཀྱི་རྗེའི། །
kapap dünden terchen chö kyi jé
May the tradition of the Great Tertön, the King of Dharma,
རིང་ལུགས་སྲིད་མཐར་རྫོགས་ལྡན་དུས་སྟོན་བཞིན། །
ringluk si tar dzokden dü tön zhin
holder of the seven special transmissions,
དགེ་མཚན་རྨད་བྱུང་ཤིས་པའི་མེ་ཏོག་གིས། །
getsen mejung shipé metok gi
remain replete until the end of time, like a celebration from the Golden Age—
འཇིག་རྟེན་གསུམ་ན་རྟག་ཏུ་མཛེས་གྱུར་ཅིག །
jikten sum na taktu dzé gyur chik
the three worlds forever adorned by this auspicious flower of wondrous goodness!
དུས་གསུམ་རྒྱལ་བའི་སྤྱི་གཟུགས་རྒྱལ་དབང་ཀརྨ་པ་བཅུ་དྲུག་པས་སྩལ་བའི་མཚན་དང་མཐུན་པའི་ཞབས་བརྟན་འབུལ་དགོས་ཞེས་གྲུབ་སྲས་སྐུ་མཆེད་རྟེན་མཆོག་འགྱུར་མེད་གླིང་གི་འདུས་པའི་སྡེས་གསུངས་བསྐུལ་བཞིན་འཇམ་མགོན་མཁྱེན་བརྩེའིབྱིན་རླབས་ཀྱི་བདུད་རྩིའི་རེག་པའི་སྔགས་བཙུན་མངྒ་ལ་ཤྲི་བྷུ་ཏིའི་སྐུ་ཚབ་ཡིད་བཞིན་ནོར་བུ་དངོས་གྲུབ་དཔལ་འབར་གྱིས་སྤྱན་སྔར་བྲིས་ཤིང་སྨོན་པ་བཞིན་འགྲུབ་པར་གྱུར་ཅིག།
Since the sons of the siddha1 together with some sangha members from Tenchok Gyurmé Ling2 requested me to offer a long life prayer using the name Rikzin Gyurmé Dorjé3 bestowed by the embodiment of the victors of the three times, the 16th Gyalwang Karmapa, I, Maṅgala Śrī Bhuti, a tantric practitioner who was touched by the nectar of Jamgön Khyentsé’s blessing, composed this prayer in the presence of the Kutsap Yizhin Norbu Ngödrup Palbar.4 May these aspirations come true!
