Homage to the omniscient one!
འདི་ལྟར་སངས་རྒྱས་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པ་དགྲ་བཅོམ་པ་ཡང་དག་པར་རྫོགས་པའི་སངས་རྒྱས་རིག་པ་དང་ཞབས་སུ་ལྡན་པ།
ditar sangyé chomdendé dezhin shekpa drachompa yangdakpar dzokpé sangyé rikpa dang zhap su denpa
Thus the Buddha, the transcendent, accomplished conqueror, the tathāgata who has attained suchness, the arhat who has conquered all foes, is a perfectly and completely enlightened buddha, endowed with insight and worthy of reverence,
བདེ་བར་གཤེགས་པ།
dewar shekpa
the sugata who has reached the state of bliss,
འཇིག་རྟེན་མཁྱེན་པ།
jikten khyenpa
the knower of the entire world,
སྐྱེས་བུ་འདུལ་བའི་ཁ་ལོ་སྒྱུར་བ།
kyebu dülwé khalo gyurwa
the guide and tamer of beings,
བླ་ན་མེད་པ།
lanamepa
the unsurpassable one,
ལྷ་དང་མི་རྣམས་ཀྱི་སྟོན་པ།
lha dang mi nam kyi tönpa
the teacher of gods and humans,
སངས་རྒྱས་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཏེ།
sangyé chomdendé té
the Buddha Bhagavat.
དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པ་དེ་ནི་བསོད་ནམས་དག་གི་རྒྱུ་མཐུན་པ།
dezhin shekpa dé ni sönam dak gi gyu tünpa
The tathāgata is in harmony with all merit.
དགེ་བའི་རྩ་བ་རྣམས་ཆུད་མི་ཟ་བ།
gewé tsawa nam chü mi zawa
He does not waste the sources of virtue.
བཟོད་པས་རབ་ཏུ་བརྒྱན་པ།
zöpé rap tu gyenpa
He is fully adorned with patience.
བསོད་ནམས་ཀྱི་གཏེར་རྣམས་ཀྱི་གཞི།
sönam kyi ter nam kyi zhi
He is the foundation of the treasures of merit.
དཔེ་བྱད་བཟང་པོ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་སྤྲས་པ།
pejé zangpo nam kyi trepa
He is ornamented with the excellent minor marks.
མཚན་རྣམས་ཀྱི་མེ་ཏོག་རྒྱས་པ།
tsen nam kyi metok gyepa
He is the full blossoming of the major marks.
སྤྱོད་ཡུལ་རན་པར་མཐུན་པ།
chöyül renpar tünpa
His activity is timely and fitting.
མཐོང་ན་མི་མཐུན་པ་མེད་པ།
tong na mitünpa mepa
Seeing him, there is nothing displeasing.
དད་པས་མོས་པ་རྣམས་ལ་མངོན་པར་དགའ་བ།
depé möpa nam la ngönpar gawa
He brings true joy to those who have faith.
ཤེས་རབ་ཟིལ་གྱིས་མི་གནོན་པ།
sherap zil gyi mi nönpa
His insight overwhelms all in its splendor.
སྟོབས་རྣམས་ལ་བརྫི་བ་མེད་པ།
top nam la dziwa mepa
His powers are invincible.
སེམས་ཅན་ཐམས་ཅད་ཀྱི་སྟོན་པ།
semchen tamché kyi tönpa
He is the teacher of all sentient beings.
བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་ཡབ།
jangchup sempa nam kyi yap
He is the father of all bodhisattvas.
འཕགས་པའི་གང་ཟག་རྣམས་ཀྱི་རྒྱལ་པོ།
pakpé gangzak nam kyi gyelpo
He is the sovereign of all the noble ones.
མྱ་ངན་ལས་འདས་པའི་གྲོང་ཁྱེར་དུ་འགྲོ་བ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་དེད་དཔོན།
nya ngen lé depé drongkhyer du drowa nam kyi depön
He is the guide who leads beings to the city of nirvana.
ཡེ་ཤེས་དཔག་ཏུ་མེད་པ།
yeshé paktu mepa
He has measureless wisdom.
སྤོབས་པ་བསམ་གྱིས་མི་ཁྱབ་པ།
popa sam gyi mi khyapa
He possesses inconceivable fearlessness.
གསུང་རྣམ་པར་དག་པ།
sung nampar dakpa
His speech is utterly pure.
དབྱངས་སྙན་པ།
yang nyenpa
Its tones are melodious.
སྐུ་བྱད་བལྟ་བས་ཆོག་མི་ཤེས་པ།
ku jé tawé chok mishepa
One can never have enough of looking at him.
སྐུ་མཚུངས་པ་མེད་པ།
ku tsungpa mepa
His form is without comparison.
འདོད་པ་དག་གིས་མ་གོས་པ།
döpa dak gi magöpa
He is unsullied by the realm of desire.
གཟུགས་དག་གིས་ཉེ་བར་མ་གོས་པ།
zuk dak gi nyewar magöpa
He is quite unsullied by the realm of form.
གཟུགས་མེད་པ་དག་དང་མ་འདྲེས་པ།
zuk mépa dak dang madrepa
He is not caught up in the formless realm.
སྡུག་བསྔལ་དག་ལས་རྣམ་པར་གྲོལ་བ།
dukngel dak lé nampar drölwa
He is completely liberated from suffering.
ཕུང་པོ་དག་ལས་རབ་ཏུ་རྣམ་པར་གྲོལ་བ།
pungpo dak le rap tu nampar drölwa
He is totally liberated from the aggregates.
ཁམས་རྣམས་དང་མི་ལྡན་པ།
kham nam dang mi denpa
He is not possessed with the constituents of ordinary experience.
སྐྱེ་མཆེད་རྣམས་བསྡམས་པ།
kyeché nam dampa
He is in control of the sense fields.
མདུད་པ་རྣམས་ཤིན་ཏུ་བཅད་པ།
düpa nam shintu chepa
He has cut right through the knots.
ཡོངས་སུ་གདུང་བ་དག་ལས་རྣམ་པར་སྒྲོལ་བ།
yongsu dungwa dak lé nampar drölwa
He is completely liberated from torment.
སྲེད་པ་ལས་གྲོལ་བ།
sepa lé drölwa
He is freed from craving.
ཆུ་བོ་ལས་བརྒལ་བ།
chuwo lé gelwa
He has crossed over the river.
ཡེ་ཤེས་ཡོངས་སུ་རྫོགས་པ།
yeshé yongsu dzokpa
He is perfected in all the wisdoms.
འདས་པ་དང༌། མ་བྱོན་པ་དང༌། ད་ལྟར་བྱུང་བའི་སངས་རྒྱས་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་རྣམས་ཀྱི་ཡེ་ཤེས་ལ་གནས་པ།
depa dang majönpa dang dantar jungwé sangyé chomdendé nam kyi yeshé la nepa
He abides in the wisdom of all the buddhas of past, present, and future.
མྱ་ངན་ལས་འདས་པ་ལ་མི་གནས་པ།
nya ngen lé depa la mi nepa
He does not dwell in nirvana.
ཡང་དག་པ་ཉིད་ཀྱི་མཐའ་ལ་གནས་པ།
yangdakpa nyi kyi ta la nepa
He abides in perfect finality.
སེམས་ཅན་ཐམས་ཅད་ལ་གཟིགས་པའི་ས་ལ་བཞུགས་པ་སྟེ།
semchen tamché la zikpé sa la zhukpa té
He remains on the level where he sees all sentient beings.
འདི་དག་ནི་སངས་རྒྱས་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་རྣམས་ཀྱི་སྐུ་ཆེ་བའི་ཡོན་ཏན་ཡང་དག་པ་རྣམས་སོ། །
didak ni sangyé chomdendé nam kyi ku chewé yönten yangdakpa nam so
All these are the authentic and supreme qualities of the embodiment of the Buddha.
དམ་པའི་ཆོས་ནི་ཐོག་མར་དགེ་བ། བར་དུ་དགེ་བ། མཐའ་མར་དགེ་བ།
dampé chö ni tokmar gewa bardu gewa tamar gewa
The sacred Dharma is good at the beginning, good in the middle, and good at the end.
དོན་བཟང་པོ།
dön zangpo
It is excellent in meaning,
ཚིག་འབྲུ་བཟང་པོ།
tsikdru zangpo
excellent in words and syllables.
མ་འདྲེས་པ།
madrepa
It is distinctive.
ཡོངས་སུ་རྫོགས་པ།
yongsu dzokpa
It is totally complete.
ཡོངས་སུ་དག་པ།
yongsu dakpa
It is utterly pure.
ཡོངས་སུ་བྱང་བ།
yongsu jangwa
It completely purifies.
བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་ཆོས་ལེགས་པར་གསུངས་པ།
chomdendé kyi chö lekpar sungpa
The Buddha teaches the Dharma perfectly.
ཡང་དག་པར་མཐོང་བ།
yangdakpar tongwa
It brings unerring vision.
ནད་མེད་པ།
né mepa
It is without affliction.
དུས་ཆད་པ་མེད་པ།
dü chepa mepa
It is constant and always timely.
ཉེ་བར་གཏོད་པ།
nyewar töpa
It is trustworthy when applied.
འདི་མཐོང་བ་ལ་དོན་ཡོད་པ།
di tongwa la dön yöpa
Seeing it fulfills one’s purpose.
མཁས་པ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་སོ་སོ་རང་གིས་རིག་པར་བྱ་བ།
khepa nam kyi soso rang gi rikpar jawa
The wise can validate it through their own awareness.
བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་གསུངས་པའི་ཆོས་འདུལ་བ་ལ་ལེགས་པར་བརྟེན་པ།
chomdendé kyi sungpé chö dülwa la lekpar tenpa
The Dharma taught by the Buddha relies entirely on training the mind.
ངེས་པར་འབྱུང་བ།
ngepar jungwa
It is truly delivering.
རྫོགས་པའི་བྱང་ཆུབ་ཏུ་འགྲོ་བར་བྱེད་པ།
dzokpé jangchup tu drowar jepa
It causes one to arrive at perfect enlightenment.
མི་མཐུན་པ་མེད་ཅིང་འདུས་པ་དང་ལྡན་པ།
mitünpa mé ching düpa dang denpa
It is without contradiction. It is all-embracing.
བརྟེན་པ་ཡོད་པ།
tenpa yöpa
It is constant.
རྒྱུ་བ་བཅད་པའོ། །
gyuwa chepa o
It is the cessation of all uncertainty.
ཐེག་པ་ཆེན་པོའི་དགེ་འདུན་ནི་ལེགས་པར་ཞུགས་པ།
tekpa chenpö gendün ni lekpar zhukpa
As for the Sangha of the Great Vehicle, they enter it thoroughly.
རིགས་པར་ཞུགས་པ།
rikpar zhukpa
They enter with awareness.
དྲང་པོར་ཞུགས་པ།
drangpor zhukpa
They enter straightforwardly.
མཐུན་པར་ཞུགས་པ།
tünpar zhukpa
They enter harmoniously.
ཐལ་མོ་སྦྱར་བའི་འོས་སུ་གྱུར་པ།
telmo jarwé ö su gyurpa
They are worthy of veneration with palms joined together.
ཕྱག་བྱ་བའི་འོས་སུ་གྱུར་པ།
chak jawé ö su gyurpa
They are worthy of receiving prostrations.
བསོད་ནམས་ཀྱི་དཔལ་གྱི་ཞིང༌།
sönam kyi pel gyi zhing
They are a glorious field of merit.
ཡོན་ཡོངས་སུ་སྦྱོང་བ་ཆེན་པོ།
yön yongsu jongwa chenpo
Offering to them brings great purification.
སྦྱིན་པའི་གནས་སུ་གྱུར་པ།
jinpé né su gyurpa
They are an object of generosity.
ཀུན་ཏུ་ཡང་སྦྱིན་པའི་གནས་སུ་གྱུར་པ་ཆེན་པོའོ། །
küntu yang jinpé né su gyurpa chenpo o
They are in every way the greatest object of generosity.
འཕགས་པ་དཀོན་མཆོག་གསུམ་རྗེས་སུ་དྲན་པའི་མདོ་རྫོགས་སོ། །
pakpa könchok sum jesu drenpé do dzok so
This concludes The Noble Sutra of Recalling the Three Jewels.
༈ མགོན་པོ་ཐུགས་རྗེ་ཆེ་ལྡན་པ། །
gönpo tukjé ché denpa
Great compassionate protector,
ཐམས་ཅད་མཁྱེན་པའི་སྟོན་པ་པོ། །
tamché khyenpé tönpapo
omniscient teacher,
བསོད་ནམས་ཡོན་ཏན་རྒྱ་མཚོའི་ཞིང༌། །
sönam yönten gyamtsö zhing
field of infinite merit and qualities—
དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ལོ། །
dezhin shek la chaktsel lo
Tathāgata, I bow to you.
དག་པ་འདོད་ཆགས་བྲལ་བའི་རྒྱུ། །
dakpa döchak drelwé gyu
It is purity, the cause for parting from desire.
དགེ་བས་ངན་སོང་ལས་གྲོལ་ཞིང༌། །
gewé ngensong lé dröl zhing
It is virtue, which liberates from the lower realms.
གཅིག་ཏུ་དོན་དམ་མཆོག་གྱུར་པ། །
chik tu döndam chok gyurpa
It alone is the supreme, ultimate truth—
ཞི་གྱུར་ཆོས་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ལོ། །
zhi gyur chö la chaktsel lo
to the Dharma, which is peace, I bow.
གྲོལ་ནས་གྲོལ་བའི་ལམ་ཡང་སྟོན། །
dröl né drölwé lam yang tön
Liberated themselves, they show the way to liberation.
བསླབ་པ་དག་ལ་རབ་ཏུ་གུས། །
lapa dak la raptu gü
Fully dedicated to the trainings,
ཞིང་གི་དམ་པ་ཡོན་ཏན་ཞིང༌། །
zhing gi dampa yönten zhing
they are a sublime field of merit with noble qualities—
དགེ་འདུན་ལ་ཡང་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ལོ། །
gendün la yang chaktsel lo
to the Sangha, too, I bow.
སངས་རྒྱས་གཙོ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ལོ། །
sangyé tso la chaktsel lo
Homage to Buddha, the chief!
སྐྱོབ་པ་ཆོས་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ལོ། །
kyopa chö la chaktsel lo
Homage to Dharma, the protector!
དགེ་འདུན་སྡེ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ལོ། །
gendün dé la chaktsel lo
Homage to Sangha, the community!
གསུམ་ལ་རྟག་ཏུ་གུས་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །
sum la tak tu gü chaktsel
To these precious three, I offer my constant, devoted homage!
སངས་རྒྱས་ཡོན་ཏན་བསམ་མི་ཁྱབ། །
sangyé yönten sam mikhyap
The Buddha’s qualities surpass thought.
ཆོས་ཀྱི་ཡོན་ཏན་བསམ་མི་ཁྱབ། །
chö kyi yönten sam mikhyabp
The Dharma’s qualities surpass thought.
དགེ་འདུན་ཡོན་ཏན་བསམ་མི་ཁྱབ། །
gendün yönten sam mikhyap
The Sangha’s qualities surpass thought.
བསམ་མི་ཁྱབ་ལ་དད་བྱས་པའི། །
sam mikhyap la dé jepé
The result of having faith in these inconceivable three,
རྣམ་པར་སྨིན་པའང་བསམ་མི་ཁྱབ། །
nampar minpang sam mikhyap
that itself surpasses thought.
རྣམ་དག་ཞིང་དུ་སྐྱེ་བར་ཤོག། །།
namdak zhing du kyewar shok
May we all be reborn in the pure realms!
