The Resplendence of Wisdom
A Guru Yoga
ན་མོ་གུ་རུ།
Homage to the Guru!
རང་གི་སྤྱི་བོར་ཆུ་སྐྱེས་གེ་སར་ལྟེར། །
rang gi chiwor chukyé gesar ter
At the crown of my head, upon a blossoming lotus,
ཐབས་ཤེས་ཉི་ཟླ་མཛེས་པའི་ཁྲི་སྟེང་ནས། །
tapshé nyida dzepé tri teng né
on a throne adorned with sun and moon discs of method and wisdom,
དུས་གསུམ་རྒྱལ་ཀུན་ཡེ་ཤེས་འདུས་པའི་གཟུགས། །
dü sum gyel kün yeshé düpé zuk
presides the very embodiment of the wisdom of all the Victors of the three times,
དཀོན་མཆོག་ཀུན་འདུས་བླ་མ་ཀརྨ་པ། །
könchok kündü lama karma pa
embodiment of the Three Jewels, Guru Karmapa,
ཞི་འཛུམ་བདེ་ཆེན་རྒྱས་པའི་ཉམས་བརྒྱ་འབར། །
zhi dzum dechen gyepé nyam gya bar
blazing with intensity of great bliss, wearing a smile,
ཕྱག་གཉིས་བདེ་སྟོང་རྡོར་དྲིལ་ཐུགས་ཀར་བསྣོལ། །
chak nyi detong dordril tukkar nöl
two hands holding a vajra and bell of bliss and emptiness at the heart,
ཞབས་ཟུང་རྡོ་རྗེའི་སྐྱིལ་མོ་ཀྲུང་གིས་བཞུགས། །
zhapzung dorjé kyilmo trung gi zhuk
sitting with two legs crossed in vajra posture,
དབུ་ལ་ཞྭ་ནག་སྐུ་ལ་ཆོས་གོས་གསོལ། །
wu la zha nak ku la chögö söl
wearing a black crown, clad in Dharma robes.
གནས་བཞིར་ཨོཾ་དཀར་ཨཱཿདམར་ཧཱུྃ་སྔོན་དང་། །
nezhir om kar ah mar hung ngön dang
From his four places, a white syllable oṃ [ཨོཾ], a red syllable āḥ [ཨཱཿ], a dark blue syllable hūṃ [ཧཱུྃ]
ཧོཿསེར་དེ་རྣམས་མར་མེ་ལྟ་བུ་འབར། །
ho ser denam marmé tabu bar
and a golden syllable hoḥ [ཧོཿ] shine out together like burning lamps.
ཡེ་ཤེས་ཆོས་སྐུའི་གཟི་བྱིན་འབར་བའི་ཀློང་། །
yeshé chökü zijin barwé long
The dharmakāya of primordial wisdom blazes within the expanse of resplendence,
རྩ་གསུམ་རྒྱ་མཚོའི་འཕྲོ་འདུ་འགྱེད་བཞིན་གསལ། །
tsa sum gyamtsö trodu gyé zhin sel
emanating and re-absorbing a great ocean of deities of the Three Roots!
དཔལ་ལྡན་བླ་མ་མཚུངས་མེད་རྡོ་རྗེ་འཆང་། །
pelden lama tsungmé dorjé chang
Glorious Guru, incomparable Vajradhāra,
སངས་རྒྱས་ཀུན་དངོས་འགྲོ་མགོན་ཧེ་རུ་ཀར། །
sangyé kün ngö dro gön herukar
Embodiment of all buddhas, Protector of Beings, Great Heruka,
སྙིང་ཁོང་རུས་པའི་གཏིང་ནས་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །
nying khong rüpé tingné sölwa dep
from the depths of my heart, the core of my being, I pray to you:
ཐུགས་རྗེས་གཟིགས་ཤིག་ཕྱི་ནང་བར་ཆད་གསོལ། །
tukjé zik shik chi nang bar ché söl
look on me with your compassion; dispel outer, inner and secret obstacles,
བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས་ཤིག་གྲུབ་གཉིས་དངོས་གྲུབ་སྩོལ། །
chingyi lop shik drup nyi ngödrup tsöl
inspire me with your blessings, and grant me the two siddhis!
ཞེས་གསོལ་བཏབ་པས་སྐུ་ཡི་གནས་བཞི་ནས། །
zhé söltap pé ku yi nezhi né
In response to this plea, from four places of the Guru’s body,
འོད་ཟེར་རིམ་དང་གཅིག་ཅར་སྤྲོས་པ་ཡིས། །
özer rim dang chik char tröpa yi
rays of light radiate out, gradually, then in full, which
ནད་གདོན་ཀུན་ཞི་ཚེ་བསོད་དཔལ་འབྱོར་རྒྱས། །
nedön kün zhi tsesö peljor gyé
pacify all illness and harmful spirits; increase lifespan, merit and wealth,
སྣང་བ་དབང་འདུས་གདོན་བགེགས་བྲལ་པར་བརླག །
nangwa wang dü dön gek drelpar lak
bring all phenomena under my control; cast away all negative forces,
དབང་བཞི་བསྐུར་ཞིང་སྒྲིབ་བྱང་སྐུ་བཞིར་སྨིན། །
wang zhi kur zhing drip jang ku zhir min
mature me into the four bodies through granting the four empowerments and purifying my obscurations,
གཉིས་མེད་ཡེ་ཤེས་དོན་གྱི་དགོངས་ཉམས་ལོན། །
nyimé yeshé dön gyi gongnyam lön
and bring about the direct experience of non-dual wisdom.
ཀ་དག་ཆོས་སྐུའི་ངང་དུ་མཉམ་པར་བཞག །
kadak chökü ngang du nyampar zhak
I now rest in the state of primordial purity!
ཀརྨ་པ་མཁྱེན་ནོ། །
karma pa khyen no
Karmapa, think of me!
ཞེས་གྲངས་མེད་བརྗོད། མཐར།
zhé drangmé jö tar
Recite this many times. Finally:
བླ་མ་དགྱེས་པས་འོད་ཞུ་རང་ལ་ཐིམ། །
lama gyepé ö zhu rang la tim
Delighted the Guru melts into light and dissolves into me.
བླ་མའི་ཐུགས་དང་རང་སེམས་དབྱེར་མེད་འདྲེས། །
lamé tuk dang rangsem yermé dré
our minds merge inseparably
མཐའ་བྲལ་ཟབ་མོ་ཀུན་ཏུ་བཟང་པོའི་དབྱིངས། །
tadrel zapmo küntuzangpö ying
within the expanse of Samantabhadra, profound and beyond limits and extremes.
གང་ཤར་འཛིན་མེད་རང་གྲོལ་ལམ་དུ་ཁྱེར། །
gangshar dzinmé rangdröl lam du khyer
By remaining without grasping at whatever arises I train in the path of self-liberation!
དགེ་འདིས་འགྲོ་ཀུན་ཉེས་པའི་གཡུལ་ལས་གྲོལ། །
gé di dro kün nyepé yül lé dröl
By this virtue, may all beings be free from all faults,
ཐམས་ཅད་མཁྱེན་པའི་ཡེ་ཤེས་མཆོག་ཐོབ་ཤོག །
tamché khyenpé yeshé chok top shok
and attain the most excellent wisdom of omniscience!
ཅེས་པའང་དད་ལྡན་འཇང་བ་ཀརྨ་རང་བྱུང་ནས་ཆེད་དུ་བསྐུལ་ངོར། དཔལ་ཀརྨ་པས་བྲིས།།
